25 July 2008 / Friday / 11.00 p.m.
Halim and Nik has been riding ever since they met when they were young and still courting each other. Though the Kluang Ride was quite timely but finding a place to stay was not exactly smooth sailing. After their room that was booked earlier taken by the Kembara Mahkota Johor, they had no choice but to stay at one available hotel not as superior as the earlier booked hotel.
As the clerk at the counter handed over the room key to Nik, Halim was quite busy securing his bike to safety downstairs. Nik immediately got herself into the room, settled in and was later joined by Halim. After Nik finished ironing her dress for the Kluang function, it was already past midnight. They went to bed immediately for they have a long journey to make the next day.
Suddenly, an hour later there was a rude knock almost banging at the door. The noise really woke Halim and Nik almost immediate and lo behold it was the “Pegawai Pencegah Maksiat” or Anti Vice Officers. Well, to cut the story short that night Halim and Nik were both interrogated as a suspect of vice activity where in actuality they were legally married couple for the last 25 years.
It was really a rude wake-up by the Anti Vice Officers for both Halim and Nik but was a good experience to laugh at later. Sleep was almost impossible after that because they both kept hearing doors being rudely knocked and shouted noises by the Anti Vice Officers. Finally Halim and Nik managed to catch a few hours nap out of tiredness. The next morning Halim and Nik was told by the hotel clerk that one couple was apprehended for further investigation by the Anti Vice Officers. Well, they were just doing their job, right?

Kluang Ride – Right Time. Right Place.

25 July 2008 / Friday / 04.00 p.m.
It was a coincident that brought Halim and his lady biker, Nik to head south and ride alone as a couple on the bike and bumped into Kembara Mahkota Johor last 25 July 2008.
Earlier on Halim and Nik were supposed to ride east to Kota Baru on 25 to 27 July 2008 with K & his wife, Azah; Atin & his wife, Ani; and Hamid & his wife. However, that Kota Baru Ride which was scheduled a month before had to be postponed when Nik on a very late notice had to attend an official function in Kluang, Johor. Hamid also had to withdraw this ride due to a mechanical problem of his bike. After much discussion it was finally decided that Halim and Nik took the ride south first and later met up with K & Azah and Atin & Ani at agreed meeting points.
It was actually a disappointment having to postpone the Kota Baru Ride but the disappointment was at least compensated when coincidently the Kembara Mahkota Johor was also in Kluang. Even K and Azah took the opportunity of the one day delay and rode back to Azah’s hometown in Jengka, Pahang.

Halim and Nik had made a stop-over at Atin and Ani’s house in Rantau, Negeri Sembilan in an attempt to coax them joining the Kluang Ride. Well, the attempt failed but Atin gave Halim and Nik the assurance that he and Ani will meet them up at Bandar Muadzam for the Kota Baru Ride.
Later Halim and Nik continued their ride to Kluang. 3 bikers from Johor Bahru and Kluang - Lan, Cikgu and Pak Itam welcomed them at the Ayer Itam toll exit. They had dinner together with the bikers and then made their way to the hotel in Kluang.
The next morning while Nik attended the function, Halim spent the waiting time at the Kembara Mahkota Johor function. Indeed it was not time wasted for either Halim or Nik and every moment was worth the ride.

The poor guy was made to shoot from every camera of us n shaking away while shooting "kot kot gambar tak menjadi". But he was good in spite of the tense created by Zali.

BRC Joined N9 to Aswandy n Shima's Wedding
Yesterday, for the first time all of us the BRC riders really got together n took a ride to Pulau Sebang in Tampin for a wedding ceremony of a friend to one of the N9 Bikers Club. The N9 is a club originating in Negeri Sembilan, formed in 1996. N9 is one of the early club joined by Halim n still received various invitation from the N9 members especially Nor who rides a BMW Touring.
The wedding was of Aswandy n Shima's. Some members of Melodi TV3 were also present.
Altogether, the 9 BRC bikers excluding those riding pillions started from Nilai R&R n ride towards the meeting point in Mambau. It was more than an hour restless waiting for the BRC before the rest of the bikers were really assembled, about 60-70 bikers in all, I guess. Well, didn't get the exact headcount. But for Halim n Nik it was like a re-union meeting with most of the N9 members after a while. The BRC introduced themselves to the others at any given availability n opportunity.
The ride headed to PD Perdana to pick up the "pengantin lelaki", had some snacks to "alas perut" n were escorted by police outriders to Pulau Sebang in Tampin. For the first timers, it was an awesome ride especially Boy - Samad's eldest son riding as pillion. Boy is only 10 years old. For Mangei it was the first time she attended a Malay wedding ceremony. We were glad that Mangei enjoyed the Malay food served.
However, an unfortunate accident happened to two bikers riding superbikes upon reaching Tampin. They were unable to avoid a surprise dog crossing the road in the midst of the motorcycles. I presumed the dog went haywire due to the loud noise from the engines passing by. We later visited the bikers at the Tampin Hospital (after a heartful meal n light entertainment at the wedding) but they were still at the accident scene. Pity them. The lady biker was from Telok Kemang Club n she suffered leg injury.
On the way back to KL, Zali with his wife Azi, riding pillion took a sudden turn n had us wondering where we were heading riding along the "kampong" track. Ho! Ho! We had another durian trip but this time right smack under the durian, rambutan n some other trees at Azi's grandmother's house. We had some durian, rambutan n cakes. We were actually supposed to ride to Mantin to Samad's "dusun" but Zali "hijacked" the trip. May be next time around Samad. But poor Boy because he was looking forward to go to Mantin.
After a stop at Seremban R&R, we headed home. Salleh & Dila made an exit at Nilai; Halim & Nik, Patrick, Pak Abu n his brother, On exited at Kajang; Samad & Boy exited at Seri Kembangan; Zali & Azi, Mobby & Mangei n BoC headed their ways to PJ n Klang.
Thank you to N9 Bikers Club for inviting us.
Until then it was a Great Ride! Great Day!

BRC Ride Muar "Makan Durian"
Some of us got the opportunity to take a weekend ride to Muar Makan Durian last 21 June 2008. It was a fiesta eating the durian, lots of durian plus some traditional kuih - bingka n seri muka. We really ate our heart away, of course especially those kaki durian.
Our members Pak Abu n his brother couldn't resist the durian - diabetic or no diabetic. They were heavily teast by us to carefully watch their diet.
Dila, Salleh's wife however didn't take a bite but had to suffer the journey home when we load a basketful of durians in their car. They didn't ride cos their loyal Honda Shadow was getting some treatment in the workshop.
Later we went to Gunung Ledang climbing the hill to rid the excess load of durian. But those lazy bums like we lady bikers - Ani, Dila, Nik and Azah just chit chat at one of the cosy rocks there. Then we took a ride to Jalan Joned in Muar to taste the famous mi bandung Muar. Wow! It was worth the ride in the rain cos the mi bandung was really really yummy! Nik had more than 1 plate of the mi bandung. Some even "tapau" for second helping at home with the family.
Most of the bikers continued their journey to Bangi, Selangor for another motorcycle show but the BRC members went their own ways. We head to Port Dickson spending the rest of the night there.
At the end of the day though tired of that long day we really enjoyed the ride.
Pak Abu is the one with the sunglasses. Though the most senior among us but a very good team spirit of him.

Salleh n Halim kidnapping the durians to eat later in the day. So lucky of us that Salleh was driving. We then took a second helping at a stop in Ayer Keroh on the way home. The last remaining was eaten at PD beach.
Car or no car this rider sure wanted to have some durians home.
Riders of Muar "Makan Durian" in group photo. It was a combination of riders from few clubs in KL, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan n Melaka.
